More Info: The Fairchild mango is one of the most popular varieties in the state. It was selected in the early 1900s in the Panama Canal Zone. It was a favorite of David Fairchild due to its distinctive flavor and heavy production under humid conditions. It was originally brought to the state through Hawaii, but is now a part of Florida and is one of its features commercial varieties. The tree is among the most ornamental of mangos, with its compact shape and deep green color. It can be maintained at a height and spread of eight feet or less, perfect for those with a modest-sized home garden.
